TOUGALOO, Miss. – Naythan Shaw-Clarke led all scorers with 24 points in an 84-57 loss to Tougaloo.
The Bulldogs improve to 5-0 on the season while the Bucs drop to 0-6.
Eliyah Stevens had a double-double with 13 points and a game and season-high 12 rebounds for UVI while Jalil Langston was also in double figures with 10 points in the loss.
The Bucs were 24 of 49 from the floor shooting a season-high 49 percent from the field while making 1 of 12 from 3-point range.
Tougaloo would use a 13-2 run last in the second half to open up a 44-22 lead with 2:58 left in the first half and they led 48-30 at the half.
The Bulldogs started the second half with a 9-2 run to take a 57-32 lead with 14:18 left.
UVI is back in action on Friday night at the ABC Basketball Classic when the Bucs take on host Arkansas Baptist at 8:00 EST.
