ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands – Jalil Langston had a team-high 12 points in a 57-36 loss to Warner on the second night of the UVI HBCU Classic.
Warner improves to 2-0 while the Bucs drop to 0-4 on the season.
UVI shot 35.1 percent (13 of 37) while making 3 of 12 from 3-point range. The Bucs were 7 of 23 from the foul line in the loss.
Joel Contreras added eight points while Naythan Shaw-Clarke finished with seven points.
Contreras, Shaw-Clarke, Eliyah Stevens and Mario Dawson each have five rebounds to lead UVI.
UVI jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the opening minutes and led 12-8 with 12:10 left in the opening half. Warner would used a 19-2 run to end the half and take a 27-14 lead at the half.
The Bucs are back in action at home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. against St. Thomas on the final day of the UVI HBCU Classic.
