St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, December 12, 2024 – The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Men's basketball team is gearing up to compete at the Historically Black Colleges and University Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Crossover in Wilberforce, Ohio from December 13-17. This event will feature teams from the eastern and western divisions of the HBCUAC facing off in cross-divisional pool play at two neutral sites. The Buccaneers will play all their games at the Gaston Lewis Arena on the campus of Wilberforce University.
Over the course of five days, the team will play four games, marking their first conference games since being projected to finish 11th in the HBCUAC Preseason polls. The next two matchups for UVI will be taking on Voorhees University and Wilberforce University, both of which are in their first year as members of the HBCUAC.
The Buccaneers will close out the road trip against Rust College on December 17. The last time the two teams met on February 15, 2024, the Buccaneers emerged victorious in a 63-61 win at the Elridge Blake Sports and Fitness Center.
