UVI Basketball will Host Its Annual Buccaneer Madness Event on October 3

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands, September 25, 2025 – The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) men's and women's basketball teams will host their annual Buccaneer Madness event at the Elridge Wilburn Blake Sports and Fitness Center on Friday, October 3. This year's edition of Buccaneer Madness will be the third installment of the successful event introduced to Buccaneer fans in 2023.

Both men's and women's basketball teams will be introduced and participate in separate 3-point shooting contests. Each team will then compete in an intrasquad scrimmage, giving fans the first live look at the 2025-2026 rosters. The fan favorite, slam dunk contest, will conclude the night with select participants from the Buccaneer men's basketball team.

Buccaneer Madness is free and open to the public. Live performances and other entertainment will be provided. Prizes and giveaways will be on hand for spectators in attendance. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the event begins at 7:30 p.m.
